Salvation
Salvation does now mean following a bunch of rules to
try and keep God happy. The truth is that God loves you and wants you to
experience joy, health, peace and prosperity. You can only do that by
knowing Jesus as a friend, lord and savior.
How can you be saved?
It's a matter of simply believing and calling on Jesus.
The Bible Says:
"If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ
and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead by the power of
the Holy Spirit, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9,10)
Paul instructed those who believed on Jesus to call on
His name as your savior. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the
Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)
Peter told the very first believer to call on the name
of Jesus for salvation. "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever
shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Acts 2:21)
If you believe on Jesus and are
ready to call on Him for salvation, then pray this prayer:
"Dear Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God.
I believe that You came to this earth and lived a sinless life to show us the
heart of our Heavenly Father. Thank You for taking my sins upon Yourself
while dying for me on the cross. Jesus, I believe that You were raised
from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. I turn from my sin and from
going my own way. Jesus, I commit to follow You and Your teachings from
this point forward. You are now my Friend, Lord and Savior. In Your
name Jesus, Amen." "Jesus is Lord!"
Congratulations! You have made the very best
decision you have ever made or ever will make. Now you are saved.
Salvation is about you having faith (belief) in what Jesus did for you.
You are forgiven and you are on your way to heaven.
Your next steps:
1. Be Water Baptized in Jesus'
Name
The Apostle Peter commanded the new believers to be
water baptized and to receive the Holy Spirit after they had repented and
confessed the Lord Jesus Christ. "Then Peter said unto them, Repent,
and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission
of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38)
2.
Be Connected to a Local Church
The next step is to grow in this new relationship with
God. The best way to do that is to read your Bible every day so that God
can speak to you through it. Also you must get involved in a good local
church. Jesus established the local church to help believers grow in Him
and to be effective in fulfilling His plans in the earth. Being connected
to a good Bible teaching church will provide spiritual support and fellowship
from other believers. You will find strength from the teaching and
fellowship received by your regular weekly church attendance. "Then
they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were
added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued steadfastly
in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in
prayers." (Acts 2:41,42)
